FAQ

HOW STRONG ARE THE PAVE STONES?

The pave stones are rated at 8000psi; four times as strong as poured concrete.

ARE PAVE STONES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN POURED CONCRETE?

If paving contractor pours 4" of 2000psi concrete, poured over a minimum 2" sand base, with rebar still sand block 12"- 18" on center, (which is the proper way to pour a concrete driveway, according to standard construction guidelines), then, a Pave Stone Driveway will be comparable in price. However , most mom and pop contractors will not bid a job in this way, because it bides the price up and their margin down.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT COLORS AND SHAPES?

There are over a dozen different shapes and colors available and each project can combine different color and laying patterns to create and almost infinite of possibilities.

ARE THE PAVE STONES SET IN CONCRETE?

No. We use a unique layering system that allows for great flexibility and strength. Our system uses highly compacted class II recycled road base, over which we lay approximately one inch of sand. The pave stone are then installed with a natural or created bond beam (solid border) around the perimeter of paved area. Once the entire area is installed, we spread sand over the pavers and plate vibrate the sand into the joints, which locks the system in place.

WILL THE SAND WASH AWAY?

Any loose or surface sand will wash away, but the sand that holds the pave stones in place will stay in place for many years with almost no maintenance required.

WILL PLANTS GROW UNDER THE PAVER STONES?

Because of the density and thickness of the class II roadbase , it is very seldom that plants grow up through the pave stone area.

YOU INSTALL THE PAVE STONES ON A SLOPE?

Pave Stone installations are commonly performed on grades upwards to 20%.

DOES Barazani Stone OFFER A WARRANTY ON PAVE STONES?
